Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Russia and New Nakhichevan, said that what he described as the Armenian authorities' illegal campaign against the Church, the incitement of anti-church sentiment, and the accusations and pressure directed at clergy are unacceptable. He noted that the Armenian Church is the guardian of the national heritage and the guarantor of the preservation of Armenian identity. The statement was published on the diocese's Telegram channel.
