Astrid Schomaker thanks Armenia at COP17 opening

At the opening of the 17th UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17) in Yerevan, Convention on Biological Diversity Executive Secretary Astrid Schomaker thanked the prime minister, the government and the Armenian people for organizing the conference. She said the conference shows that multilateralism works. She called for turning commitments into concrete steps over the next two weeks. Schomaker declined to comment on the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh.
