A medical mission tied a student's future to Armenia
In a personal essay published in The Armenian Weekly, a student describes how a medical mission tied his future to Armenia. The author writes that he was born and raised in Maryland, thousands of miles from Armenia, but, as for many in the diaspora, the homeland has always lived within him. He says that over the years he has begun to think more seriously about what it means to carry that homeland with him. In the essay he tries to understand how the life and career he has chosen may relate to Armenia. The text shows how a single experience can guide a young person's professional path.
