Greece's parliament has approved by majority vote a ban on social media for children under 15, which will take effect on January 1, 2027. According to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, platforms have two and a half months to develop a way to verify users' ages and protect their privacy. Australia adopted a similar law in 2025.
