Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia said in a speech at the Dprevank that throughout history there have been internal and external attempts to destroy the identity of the Armenian nation. According to him, the people have remained attached to their identity, which originated with the work of Gregory the Illuminator and Mesrop Mashtots. The Catholicos noted that today the church is committed to putting into practice the values that preserve the nation's identity.
