On October 16 in Yerevan, the "Leaders for Nature" summit opened as part of the COP17 biodiversity conference, where Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech. He said that nature saved Armenia during the country's difficult days, but it was abused. According to him, forests were cut down and Lake Sevan's fish stocks were depleted during the crisis years of the 1990s, and there is now a debt to be repaid to nature.
