Cross falls on priest during Mass in Ecuador, killing him

During Mass at the Perpetuo Socorro church in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil, a large wooden cross came loose from the wall and fell on Catholic priest Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari, who died. The incident occurred on the evening of October 17 during a live broadcast of the Mass. Local authorities are investigating whether the cross came loose because of faulty installation or wear.
