Church sues Vagharshapat mayor over 47.5 million drams

The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court against Vagharshapat community head Argishti Mekhakyan, seeking to invalidate an August 6 decision on the collection of tax liabilities that provides for the seizure of 47.5 million drams. A representative of the Church said the certificate contains inconsistencies and that some properties are exempt from tax. The case has been assigned to Judge Mher Petrosyan; no decision on accepting it for proceedings has been made yet.
