The University of Toronto's Citizen Lab has published a report on the Israeli company Discover-Tech. According to the report, the company's Controlium platform is used by companies that develop spyware to profile users and infect devices with software that works without a click. Discover-Tech ad impressions were also recorded in Armenia, in the networks of the Prime Minister's Office, the Central Electoral Commission and the Central Bank. The Globe and Mail notes that it is unclear whether those bodies were hacked, since the matter concerns profiling. According to PAN.am, information security specialist Samvel Martirosyan wrote that this concerns Candiru spyware, which was distributed through an advertising platform.
