At its October 22 session, the government decided to raise the 2026 commercial whitefish catch quota in Lake Sevan from 550 to 1,270 tonnes. According to the justification, data from the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology showed the lake's whitefish stock stood at 4,511 tonnes as of July, and the center proposed an additional 720 tonnes.
