The Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and the HENAR foundation jointly run a master's program in health professions education (MSHPE). It is offered under the Boston University–Armenia Medical Partnership (BU-AMP). This fall, representatives of both organizations visited several hospitals in Yerevan, including the Muratsan University Hospital Complex, the Mikaelyan Institute of Surgery, the Wigmore Women's and Children's Hospital, and the Erebouni Medical Center. They saw how the first graduates of the program teach right at the patient's bedside. According to the program's founding director, Jeffrey Markuns, the important change is that teaching is not only the transfer of knowledge but also the development of skills.
