According to the National Security Service, Armenia and Azerbaijan exchanged unidentified DNA profiles in January 2026. Before that, the profiles were compared with those held by the Armenian side, and no matches were found. The NSS noted that DNA profiles of relatives of missing persons were not handed over to Azerbaijan. On October 7, Azerbaijani official Ali Naghiyev stated that remains found in Karabakh did not match the profiles of 50 missing persons.
