Dispute in parliament over authorship of domestic violence bill

An extraordinary session of a National Assembly committee discussed the legislative package on preventing domestic violence, presented by Zaruhi Batoyan. MP Edgar Ghazaryan claimed that the real author of the bill is "a woman who lives with the prime minister from time to time, Anna Hakobyan." Batoyan stated that the bill was drafted in cooperation with the government, in particular the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Rustam Bakoyan urged the participants to "show restraint."
