On the morning of October 28, Renfe and Iryo trains travelling from Madrid to Seville collided near Urda in Toledo province, and two carriages derailed. Figures for the death toll vary from 10 to 46, with ABC reporting at least 46 dead. According to El País, the main theory is human error amid a failure of the signalling system.
