IRGC says it shot down US MQ-9 drone near Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its forces intercepted and destroyed a US MQ-9 reconnaissance and strike drone east of the Strait of Hormuz, the Fars news agency reports. According to the IRGC, the drone was shot down using a new aerospace defense system. The Iranian side says this is the 55th US MQ-9 it has destroyed.
