On November 5, a court extended the detention of Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan by another three months, granting the public prosecutor's motion. The defense had sought to have the detention lifted or replaced with a milder preventive measure. Tsarukyan is charged with fraud on a particularly large scale and money laundering and denies the charges. Lawyer Emin Khachatryan said the decision would be appealed.
