Brazil's incumbent president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won the runoff of the October 25 presidential election and was elected president for a fourth time. With 99.79% of ballots counted, he received 51.76% of the vote, while Senator Flávio Bolsonaro received 48.24%. Bolsonaro did not accept defeat and said he would seek to have the results annulled, citing a court decision to extend voting by two hours.
