According to the Migration and Citizenship Service, the state fee for the new biometric passport is 28,650 drams and for the ID card 5,950 drams, while the previous passport cost 25,000 drams. The service denied the claim of a "nearly tenfold price increase", noting that the costs of two documents cannot be presented as the price of a single passport. According to the service, current documents remain valid until they expire.
