Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan, speaking in the National Assembly during the discussion of the draft 2027 budget, asked for Central Bank salaries to be raised by at least 12% while keeping its 859 staff positions. According to him, the outflow of qualified staff has doubled over the past 3 years, and they mainly move to the financial sector, where pay is 2–3 times higher. Galstyan noted that even after the increase the gap would remain at about 33%.
