British adventurer Karl Bushby arrived at his mother's home in the city of Hull on Monday, 2 November, completing his 28-year journey around the world. According to Euronews, the 57-year-old former paratrooper set out in November 1998 from Punta Arenas in Chile, aiming to reach his mother's doorstep without using ordinary transport. The route crossed four continents and covered about 50,000 kilometres, or 31,000 miles. He walked the final stretch through north-eastern England. His mother, Angela, welcomed him at home. Euronews writes that Bushby also met his 36-year-old son, Adam, and his 12-year-old granddaughter for the first time.
