Protests were held outside Azerbaijan's embassy in Ankara and its consulate general in Istanbul against restrictions on wearing headscarves in Azerbaijani schools. Protesters argued that the hijab is a religious requirement, demanded that schoolgirls' right to education not be restricted, and criticised Baku, including for its ties with Israel. According to various reports, the number of participants ranged from hundreds to thousands.
